Professor Tomoaki Okuda of Keio University Visits the Uzbekistan-Japan Innovation Center of Youth

On August 12, 2026, Professor Tomoaki Okuda of Keio University, Japan, visited the Uzbekistan-Japan Innovation Center of Youth at Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov.

The main purpose of the visit was to discuss the key objectives and priority areas of an international project planned to be implemented in the field of ecology and environmental protection through future cooperation between the Center and Keio University, as well as the activities to be carried out within the framework of the project.

During the visit, Professor Tomoaki Okuda was provided with detailed information on the initial work carried out to date within the framework of the international project, as well as the results achieved. The participants also exchanged views on the support provided by relevant organizations that have expressed interest in the implementation of the project, as well as prospects for further cooperation.

Professor Tomoaki Okuda emphasized that the international project is mutually beneficial and of significant interest to both Uzbekistan and Japan. He also expressed confidence that the research activities carried out within the framework of the project will, in the future, make an important scientific and practical contribution to the scientifically grounded study of environmental issues in Uzbekistan, particularly air quality and atmospheric pollution, as well as to the development of effective solutions to address these challenges.

The parties emphasized the importance of further developing scientific cooperation in the field of ecology and environmental protection, implementing joint research, and continuing cooperation aimed at the effective implementation of the international project. At the conclusion of the visit, Professor Tomoaki Okuda wished the Uzbekistan-Japan Innovation Center of Youth success in its research activities, further development, and new achievements.
