The JCC is the decision-making body for the project, bringing together high-ranking officials from the central government, JICA representatives, and all other project stakeholders to report on progress to date, discuss future plans, and obtain approval. The meeting is held once a year, and this time, it focused on the SATREPS project titled “HYDROGEN SATREPS PROJECT IN UZBEKISTAN (H2UZ),” which is being jointly advanced by the Uzbekistan-Japan Innovation Center of Youth ((UJICY) and Kyushu University in Japan.
Committee members, including the Director of the Center, S. Niyazbekov, the Deputy Director for Science, Z. Furthermore, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Energy, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) participated both online and offline as observers. During the discussion session of the JCC meeting, it was noted that the SATREPS project is not only focused on energy-related research but also on human resource development.the importance of human resource development was also highlighted. It was agreed that by accelerating collaboration between institutions in Uzbekistan and Japan, the risks currently identified can be mitigated.
The opportunity to gather insights from many participants through this JCC meeting was a valuable experience for the newly launched H2 SATREPS Project, which began just one year ago. Moving forward, UJICY will continue to promote collaboration between related institutions in Uzbekistan and Japan as a hub for the project.
