We have started a Japanese language class at UJICY. Once a week, we hold a class for UJICY staff and researchers, focusing on conversation practice. The instructor is Luka, who volunteers at UJICY.
At UJICY, we often conduct research in collaboration with Japanese research institutes, and we also have many visitors from Japan. Therefore, the aim of the class is to enable students to use the Japanese they have learned in class to communicate in simple ways.
First of all, we are hoping to learn Japanese and Japanese culture while having fun!
This is Luka, in charge of the Japanese language class.
The idea for starting this Japanese language class came from the comments of staff who had visited Japan and said he wanted to study Japanese. There were also comments from researchers who had obtained masters or PhDs in Japan saying they wanted to study conversation. I am not a Japanese language teacher, but I am thinking about the curriculum for the Japanese language class while getting advice from other volunteers who are active as Japanese language teachers in Uzbekistan. I would be happy if we could make Japan feel a little closer and if UJICY visitors to Japan could have simple conversations.
