Our center promotes technical cooperation projects of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The Project for Strengthening the Capacity of Research Activities of Uzbek-Japan Innovation Center of Youth had its first phase from January 2019 to April 2023. The goal of Phase 1 was to improve research capabilities by building a research network between researchers and Japanese universities and planning joint research.
The second phase will start in August 2024. In Phase 2, we will continue to work on improving our research capabilities, but we also plan to carry out business incubation, synergy between senior researchers and young researchers who have studied in Japan, and outreach activities for society. Today, Mr. Sato from JICA visited UJICY and explained the details of this program to our staff. In addition, JICA expert Nargiza, who will be in charge of Phase 2, has arrived at the center.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the JICA staff and UJICY staff to meet and discuss the new start of Phase 2.
